Gutter Cleaning & Exterior Gutter Brightening
Two different problems get called gutter cleaning. One is clearing debris out of the trough so water actually gets to the downspouts. The other is the black striping on the outside face of the gutter, which does not come off with an ordinary house wash. We handle both.
Northeast Ohio's fall leaf load and spring maple seed drop mean most homes with mature trees need clearing at least once a year, often twice.
Interior gutter clearing
- Remove leaves, seed pods, shingle grit and nesting debris
- Check downspouts for flow and clear reachable clogs
- Bag and remove debris from the property
- Rinse gutter interiors where appropriate
Exterior gutter face cleaning
The vertical black striping on gutter faces is oxidized road film and organic residue that bonds to the finish. It needs a dedicated cleaning treatment, not just a rinse. This is a separate service from clearing debris and is usually paired with a house wash.
What we report back
If we find loose hangers, separated seams, damaged downspout connections or standing water that indicates a pitch problem, we tell you. We do not perform gutter repair or installation, but you should know what we saw.

- How often should gutters be cleared here?
- Once a year for most homes; twice for properties with heavy tree cover, typically after the fall leaf drop and again in spring.
- Does a house wash clean the gutter streaking?
- Not fully. A house wash cleans the siding and rinses the gutter exterior, but tiger striping needs a dedicated gutter face treatment.
- Do you repair gutters?
- No. We clean them and report anything we notice so you can have it addressed.
